People from all over the world come to Revelstoke to experience its rugged alpine beauty, mountain peaks, flowing rivers, wild terrain, and historic charm. With the Explorers Society Hotel, we created a place for our fellow travelers to gather, celebrate, and rest. In 1911, our building was a tobacconist’s shop and guest house, and today, it’s Revelstoke’s premier boutique hotel. We’re located in Revelstoke’s historic downtown with easy access to great restaurants, boutique clothing and athletic shops, nightlife, and community events. And, we’re only minutes to Revelstoke Mountain Resort and the most vertical feet of lift-accessed terrain in North America.
We’ve got you covered for just about anything you could want: a boutique hotel experience with great service, an inventive French restaurant, a cozy basement whiskey bar, a great hall for events, a rooftop lounge complete with hot tub, mountain views, and fireplace, and a retail shop carrying hotel branded goods and a curated selection of everything a luxury traveler/adventurer could want.
Situated between the Monashee and Selkirk ranges, Revelstoke sits in an ideal spot to explore the vast mountain landscape. Just from town the views are phenomenal, and with just minutes to trailhead or chairlift, the opportunities to explore are endless.
Highlights include the contrast between softly white-washed wood and concrete walls, the elegant tin roof panels, the boldly tiled floor, and the industrial chandelier. These features are all individually unique but together compliment each other in an exquisitely modern way, while still paying tribute to the buildings rich history. The Explorers Society Hotel brings boutique trend to Revelstoke – Eliisa Tennant, Revelstoke Mountaineer, April 2017
The boiler room bar is one of the best and least known new gems in Revelstoke. It’s classy and intimate and has a great selection of scotches and cocktails. Definitely a great date night idea. The history of this building is incredible, and the boiler room bar downstairs is right in the thick of it.“Classiest Joint in Revelstoke” — A TripAdvisor Boiler Room Patron, April 2017
A fantastic new hotel has come about through a loving and detail oriented restoration of a historic building in downtown Revy. Each room is unique, and each and every wall tells a story !
The restaurant is a partnership of the owners and the culinary geniuses of La Baguette – perennial Revelstoke favorites. We ate there two nights in a row, and everything we tasted was delicious !
We can’t wait to go back. Be sure to book early – only nine rooms.
